This cabinet was available without the switchboard as Cabinet #56X or with the switchboard as Cabinet #55X.
On the 56X, wooden shelves supported by special brass shelf supports were used in place of the switchboard.
The catalog description explained that the cabinet had all of the same features as the 44X & 46X cabinets, but was designed to accommodate any electric switchboard available at the time.
